‘U Drive. U Text. U Pay’ Campaign Ramps Up in New Jersey

Law enforcement officers throughout the state are cracking down on distracted drivers.

Beginning on Sunday, April 1st, and running through Saturday, April 21st, police departments throughout New Jersey will be taking part in the New Jersey U Drive. U Text. U Pay campaign.

The high-visibility law enforcement initiative will target drivers who engage in dangerous distracted driving behaviors, such as talking on hand-held cell phones and sending text messages while driving.

Officials say distracted driving is one of the most serious safety issues on the roadways and they hope by initiating this campaign they will be able to reduce the number of accidents caused by it and help save lives.
