Police Investigating Toms River Bank Robbery


The Toms River Police Department is seeking the public’s help in locating a suspect who allegedly robbed a local bank on Thursday.

In a statement, Toms River Police Department spokeswoman Jillian Messina said that police units were dispatched to the Bank of America at Bananier and Route 37 on Thursday at 10:15 a.m. for a bank robbery.

The suspect entered the bank and demanded money from the teller stating he had a gun, she said.

There was no weapon shown and the suspect left on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police describe the suspect as a white male, approximately 5’8-5’10, medium build, wearing a gray Polo hooded sweatshirt, gray & black gloves, tan baseball hat, sunglasses, camouflage bandana over his face, and carrying a leopard print bag.

The Toms River Police Detective Bureau, Ocean County CSI and Berkeley PD all responded and continue to investigate the incident.
