The Department of Homeland of Security has confirmed it is delaying the construction of roughly 40 miles of wall along Arizona’s southern border after courts keep fighting it.

Construction was scheduled to begin next week but is now slated to begin in early October or later for most of the wall. Building in just one section, a two-mile segment in the state, will proceed as planned, beginning on early next week.

Currently, there are miles of pedestrian barriers of double-wire mesh and vehicle barriers already split Arizona and Mexico, but the administration wants to replace both with 30-foot bollard walls, which are thick steel posts filled with concrete and to add lights and cameras.
