NYPD Officers injured at Levaya: One Hit By Car carrying the aron, another hurt by drone

An NYPD officer was hit by a car while doing crowd control work at the Skulener Rebbe’s Levaya

Tens of thousands of members of the Orthodox community flooded the streets around the synagogue on 54th Street in Borough Park for the funeral of Rabbi Yisroel Avrohom Portugal, who was Niftar Monday at age 95.

Video from overhead shows a chaotic scene of mourners rushing the casket to try and place a hand on it.

According to reports, somewhere within the crowd a car, possibly the hearse, pulled away and ran over the legs of an NYPD officer.

His injuries are not considered to be life threatening.

Another Police officer was injured by a falling drone – which hit her in the face. The drone operator – or lack thereof, was arrested.
