Israel: 2 More Coronavirus-Related Deaths — Total Now 5, Total Cases Climb to 2,030


A 76-year-old man and one additional victim died early Wednesday morning of coronavirus, at the Sheba Medical Center.

“Unfortunately, last night a coronavirus patient died,” Sheba Hospital announced.

“He was hospitalized in the special intensive care unit for coronavirus patients. The 76-year-old man suffered from a significant pre-existing condition and was hospitalized since last Monday. We share the family’s sorrow.”

The fifth death was of an 83-year-old man and occurred at Maayanei Hayeshua Hospital in Bnei Brak. The patient also had a pre-existing condition and passed away Tuesday night shortly after his arrival in the hospital.

The Health Ministry stated early Wednesday morning that the total cases of coronavirus reached 2,030.

The Health Ministry said that 37 people with COVID-19 are in serious condition, 54 are in moderate condition, and 1,876 people have mild symptoms.

To date, 58 Israelis have recovered from the virus.

Of those who are infected, 203 are being treated in hospitals, 927 are at home and 203 are in hotels that have been repurposed as coronavirus wards.
